EPISODE 6: DATE WITH ANA
James was already at the Bowling Alley sitting and wondering how poor Ana was expected to make it down all these stairs. He hoped they had it figured out. A coffee in his hand, even though they didn't really serve coffee there, while he waited for his date to arrive.
Ana arrives at the bowling alley with the remainder of the camera crew. As she begins to make her way down the stairs, slowly still as she's still just getting used to the braces, one of the crew scoops her up and carries her down the stairs. Her body folded over the man's shoulder, the short dress she wears probably shows more than she'd really like. "HEY!" she yells, squirming and trying to reach back to tug the skirt down. Good thing her underwear matches, wouldn't want the viewers at home to be flashed with mismatched panties! At the bottom of the stairs, he sets her down gently, grunting at her that she was moving too slow. She gives him an indignant look, tugging her dress downward. When she spies James with his cup of coffee, she grins brightly at him. "Hello, Colonel!" she greets him cheerfully, walking somewhat awkwardly in his direction.

When she spies James with his cup of coffee, she grins brightly at him. "Hello, Colonel!" she greets him cheerfully, walking somewhat awkwardly in his direction.
James watched as a wheelchair-less Ana was carried down, against her will it seemed. The camera would blur the panty flash for the people at home. Sorry folks, Hathian or not, you don't get to see that. James would get up from his seat, setting the cup down and would walk in her direction seeing her walk carefully. "Hello Ana." putting out both arms to attempt to take her forearms both to greet her and to stabilize her a bit. "I am happy to see you out of your wheelchair, how have you been?" he inquired politely.
Ana takes his arms in a similar fashion as she gets close enough. The smile tugging her lips deepens as she inclines her head a bit. "I've been well, thank you. Busy going to physical therapy and the like." She's a hard worker when she wants to be, evidenced by the lack of wheelchair, slightly earlier than expected. "How are you, Colonel?" she asks, keeping it cheerful and light. On impulse, she tries to give him a hug, quickly wrapping her arms about him before drawing away. "I haven't been bowling in forever!" she declares, still grinning.
James reciprocated the smile with his own. "I'm doing well, thank you." He would accept the hug, meeting her in the embrace and once pulled away he would nod, looking away at the bowling lane briefly. "I would have to say the same." looking back to Ana "Are you sure you're up for this?" not doubting her abilities but much more concerned about her well being.
Ana smiles warmly and nods her head. "Yes, I took some of the pain meds I have" she explains. She looks at the bowling lane, then leans close to him whispering conspiratorially loud, "I'm more worried about my ability!" She giggles. "Be prepared for a game of gutter balls!" she says, thinking she may have a little trouble with throwing the ball. She smiles. "I'll be fine. I'll sit when I need to." she promises.
James leans into the whisper and it caused him to pull a smile. Her personality was certainly attractive and she had a lovely charm about her, in addition to being an attractive young woman. "Don't you worry." he lifted his can "That might make the two of us." he assured her. He didn't want to over do the gentleman thing to the point of offense but he would offer to lead her to the bowling lane by extending one arm back to her if she took it "Golf has usually been more my game than bowling." he shared as they prepared to play.
Ana accepts his arm. She is a southern girl, after all, proven by that deep 'Bama drawl. She flashes him that impish grin as they make they're way over to the lanes. "Oh! I've never actually been golfing, unless you count mini-golf...." she quips lightly. "I just know to yell 'fore!'" Her voice swells on the last word, though she doesn't actually yell and she dissolves into giggles. She stands at the scorekeeper and fidgets with it, trying to get it to turn on and add their names.
James lofted his brows with amusement as she mentioned mini golf and let out a laugh when she joked about yelling fore. "Well you know the most important part of it so I think you're half way there." he joked. "Alright lets see what you've got... ladies first of course." he stayed close enough to support her if she needed it but gave her enough space to play on her own.
Ana steps up to the bowling ball return and claims a ball. She tests the weight a little and then puts it back, picking up a smaller ball. Finding one that was a good weight, she steps to the lane and takes her aim. Pulling her arm back, she takes a few quick steps and swings her arm forward to release the ball, waiting for it to strike the pins....or go in the gutter, which is exactly what it does. She shakes her head and laughs. "I think I need a warmup!"
James smiled supportively as she missed the first time "That's alright... I promise we won't keep score." he spoke as he stepped up, leaving the cane behind him probably for the first time. He didn't really need the cane as much as it might seem. Grabbing the ball he made sure he was satisfied with it, he waited for Ana to make her second try before he went for his turn. "

Ana misses on both turns and steps aside for him to take his place. She notes that he leaves the cane behind and tilts her head a little, smiling. She makes no comment on it, however, as she stands behind him, watching him bowl. She's prepared to cheer or commiserate, depending on whether he bowls like she does or if he can actually bowl.
James smiles and nods as she misses both shots but doesn't hold it against her at all. In fact he knew this was na opportunity to get to know her better and he meant to do exactly that. "So tell me Ana... what do you think so far... how is this experience going for you?" he lined up his shot and released the ball down the lane, catching two pins "Yeah, this will take some getting used to" he grinned as he went to pick up his ball for his second try.
Ana laughs as he talks about this taking some time to get used to. She claps as he hits two pins, bouncing on her feet. She'd probably jump, but that'd be too much. "Wooo!" she cheers before answering his question. "Oh, I've had some fun. The mansion is quiet most of the time." She leans in to him again, speaking quietly...but with a boom mic, it's probably caught anyway. "I tend to go out and about in town, lose the crew...." She flashes him an impish grin. "Partly just to see if I can..." There's probably several clips of her disappearing somewhere and the crew searching for her or just giving up. "The other girls are....I don't know. Ren's nice, I guess. She's the only one I've talked to so far." She lifts her shoulders, smiling again. She moves to the ball return again, picking up the ball to wait her turn.
James waited to go again. Most of his attention was on Ana. The game was very much secondary for him, but he still appreciated her cheering. Lofting his brows as she mentioned escaping the crew often "Oh do you? Well I'm sure its not easy. Where do you find yourself running off to?" he listened as she continued. "Well that's nice I suppose, a quiet place might be better than a very loud one." he did wonder if there was a lot of drama in the house - he had clearly not seen some of the prank stuff that was posted online. "And what do you expect from this experience? What are you hoping for really?" he asked as he knocked down two more pins on his second try, walking back now to grab his cane.
Ana cheers again as he knocks down more pins. She takes her place, holding up the ball to aim carefully. As before, she swings her arm back and then forward again to release the ball. This time, it rolls swiftly down the lane to knock some of the pins down. She cries out in surprise, turning to beam at him, proud that she's hit some pins. "Huh? Oh..." she says to the question, shaking her head and shrugging. She meanders over to the ball return as her ball comes up. "I don't know really. Meet new people, I guess?" she flashes him a smile before she takes aim again, scowling a little at the split that's left behind. "I mean, it never hurts to have more friends, right?" And with that, she releases the ball, watching it travel down the lane to take out one of the two remaining pins. She flashes that grin again as she turns about. "At the very least. Maybe fall in love in a best case scenario. But, you know, anyway this goes....I doubt I'll forget it. I'll have a story to tell possible children in my future!" Once again, there's that impish grin.
James nods approvingly as she turns around after her first go around. "Well done!" he remarks. He was far more interested in her response which she gave in fine fashion. She sounded honest and he appreciated that. "Well I think those are some great goals to have for a show like this. And I couldn't agree more, this is certainly among the more interesting stories I'll be telling." Stepping up to take his turn he watched the ball travel down to knock out all but one pin. Going back for the ball for his second attempt he asked "Anything else you'd want me to know about you?"
Ana watches him bowl, cheering again as he knocks down all but one pin. She lifts her shoulders in answer to his question. "Oh, I don't know....it's hard to get to know someone in one date." She smiles warmly. "But it's the name of the game, I guess. Getting to know someone takes time...and a question like that is hard to answer. I mean, I could tell you all sorts of things about me, but I don't think much of it matters." She pauses for a moment, thinking as she picks up the ball and prepares to take her turn bowling. "How about you? What do you hope to gain from this experience? Just a story or..." she prompts, tossing the ball down the lane and crinkling her nose as it heads straight for the gutter. She pouts a little, though still clearly amused. "I could tell you that I don't like cops..." she says, moving again to the ball return. "But I think you know that." She furrows her brows a bit. "And there are some things I could say that aren't fit for public consumption." Again, she tosses the ball down the lane, cheering for herself when she knocks a couple pins down. "Hmm...I have a brother that I rarely see and hardly talk to. He's in Texas. I come from a horrible childhood and am lucky to have escaped..." She tilts her head a bit. "I am a flare bartender and am looking to get back into competitions now that I have my legs back..." She smiles again, sweeping herself to the side for him to take his turn.
James nods with understanding "Couldn't agree with you more Ana... these things do take time, but this seems to be a very unique way to find love and I guess at the very least one can forge some new friendships." watching as she stepped up to take her turn again "No I'm certainly looking for a companion. I've been alone for too long and even though I have a large family, I find myself seeking a particular type of companionship." As she releases the ball down the lane and catches a few pins "Good shot!" he said before she continued to share more about her. Listening intently he got back up to take his turn, but he was signalled by mister clip board that they needed to wrap up. James was not happy about this but he didn't have as much control over the format as one might think. He re-directed his approach towards he, standing across from her and looking down "Well... I do feel like I've gotten to know you better today. Really enjoyed your company Ana." extending hand to take hers if she allowed it.
Ana catches the signal to warp up as well, shaking her head a little. Surprisingly, she's enjoying her time with him. She smiles and tips her chin up as he moves to her, reaching for her hand. There's no resistance as he does so. "Well, I do hope you find what you're looking for..." she murmurs softly, meaning it. "And any time you want to get a rematch in..." She giggles, flashing him an impish grin. "Or a drink...I'm willing. This was fun!" Though she doesn't directly state it, it's clear that she rather likes the man. She leans up to attempt to place a kiss to his cheek - or the closest she can reach to his cheek, anyway.
James smiled wider as she offered a re-match or a drink. He too had enjoyed his time with her, it was easy and relaxed and he was actually having fun. He meant to place a kiss on her hand, but as he noticed her attempt to lean up, he decided a kiss on the cheek was infinitely better and leaned down to meet her half way. Blame his fabulous genetics for how tall he was. Accepting the kiss from Ana he leaned away to offer her a polite nod "It was fun indeed Ana. Have a wonderful night and I will see you soon." waiting for her to be escorted out before he left.
Ana grins to him and bobs her head. She takes care of the scoring machine and then allows herself to be escorted out, waving off the man who tries to carry her up the steps. Not this time, jack! "Night!" she calls to the Colonel at the top of the stairs.
Later on in the limo... "I had a surprisingly good time with Ana" shaking his head as the camera cuts out and then focuses back in "This is not going to be easy. Choosing between these women will not be easy. They are vastly different but all intriguing in their own way." Cuts and re-focuses "Tomorrow will be tough." nods sagely, as the limo drives away.
